Townsend Acres Stables
Located an hour's drive from NYC, Townsend Acres Stables is home of some of the most talented race horses, jumpers, and even some western horses. There are several Olympic trainers, for just about everything; waiting on hand to take apprentices and teach some lessons.
You drive through a white arch with a sign dangling from it. The sign is painted a sky blue color with navy blue and dark green painted on words. The words read as Townsend Acres Stables on top then below in smaller letters it read A Racing/Jumping/Western Stable. The drive is made up of gravel as you drive toward six huge barns and a small house like building off to the side. Finally you park where there are a bunch of cars, trucks, and trailers. This must be the parking lot. You walk into the closet barn. There are a lot of geldings and stallions, so you assume that it is the stallion's barn. Several lean and well muscled thoroughbreds pass by you. Their coats gleam with the grooming the grooms just gave them. Several more horses pass you. Some are Appaloosas and some are Quarter Horses. The people leading them are dressed in western riding clothes, so you assume them as western horses. Finally you walk out of the barn, after passing several wash stalls, cross ties, and even a lounge in the barn. Looking out from the other side of the barn you see two racing ovals, the start of a cross country course, three indoor arenas, and three outdoor arenas. But what catches you eye the most is the rolling green acreage of the pastures for the horses. It stretches for miles. You then move to the house like building to see what it is. As you walk toward it a sign dangling from a bar names it as the Office. Still curious you continue to walk toward it. You open the door and walk in. There's another door so you knock on it. A female voice tells you to come in, so you do. A female - who introduces herself as Ashleigh Griffin the owner of the stable - greets you.
TAS is a fantastic human/horse RPG owned by Ashleigh. It has seen up for several months and has gained many wonderful members. And TAS will welcome anyone who wants to RP with its members and staff.
Summer is here! The grass is green and the pastures seem to be overflowing with it. The temperature continues to rise. The lakes and ponds seems to be the only way to escape the heat. The trees have their emerald green leaves back and you can hear the birds chirping away on their branches. People are bustling around preparing their horses for the upcoming shows.
Weather Warning: The heat wave doesn't seem to be stopping as temperatures climb to all time highs. Be careful of overworking your horses and once you and they are done give them a bath to cool off! Then head to the beach and cool off yourself!

General
Townsend Acres Stables, or TAS for short, is a role playing human/horse game. You are a human who owns horses and rides, trains, shows, and takes care of them; or you are a horse who has been bought and transferred to TAS. Humans live on TAS and have their own house. If you are roleplaying the human then you have no control over the horse's reactions. If you are roleplaying the horse you can through in any twist to the asked preformance. You can cause the horse to die, buck, fall, and almost anything else you want.
You are probably wondering how big the houses are? Well the ones you start out with are one story, with two bed rooms. There is a kitchen, a bathroom, a living room. The bed rooms come with a queen size bed a closet, which you fill, some chests a bed stand a computer desk, which has a computer on it, a lamp and a ceiling fan. The kitchen has a frig/freezer, some cabinets, a stove/oven, a microwave, a sink, and a dishwasher. The bathroom has a tub, a toilet, a sink, and a few towels, you bring your own shampoo/soap and stuff. The living room comes with a sofa, a recliner, a TV, and a DVD/CD/VCR/ player. (Note: A starter house will be created for you. You can add any piece of furniture you want.)
You might wonder where you can buy the horses! Well the horses can be found wandering loose, because they were abandened, or in the sales. They can be any breed from Thoroughbreds to mustangs. To buy them post like you would on any other board including a bid. Then wait twenty-four hours and the bid shall be accepted. But if some one bids over you, you can keep bidding. Bids will be accepted twenty-four hours after final bid. (Note: If I or another staff member has not accepted final bid after twenty-four hours, PM me and it shall get taken care of.)
Ten horses is the max for any human.
In the game, you start off with $50,000. Every real week a staff member will add $5,000 to the financial records kept by the manager. You cannot buy ANYTHING if you run out of money, you shall be rejected by every store.
The manager keeps the financial records of everyone. You will be able to see them in the Stable Office. If you start running low on money, you will get a PM warning you.
The aging of the horses and humans is as follows: Four real months is equal to 1 year. For foals and yearlings it doesn't go differently: Four real month is equal to 1 year. One month is a season. So every four weeks the seanson will be changed. Foals will not be considered adults until they are three years old. Once they are three regular aging for horses takes over. You can speed aging, but keep it realistic.
If you have any questions at all feel free to ask!
The facility has a total of six-hundred stalls (Not including the Wash Stalls): all are 14x14 stalls. There are six barns, each with one-hundred stalls. There is: The Stallion’s/Gelding’s Barn; The Mare’s Barn; The Breeding/Foaling Barn; The Yearling Barn; The Two Year Old Barn; and The Training Barn. Each stall contains an automatic controlled fly sprayer, ceiling fan, heated waterer, feed dish, and a camera which you can view through our website using a security code. Two fully automated wash bays with soap dispensers and extra long hoses for easy washing are located conveniently near the stalls. Each wash bay is equipped with and LCD TV which can be set to your favorite station via satellite service. The facility does not only cater to your horse but to you as well. The feed and tack rooms contain a dishwasher, refrigerator, freezer, washer, dryer, and wash sinks that are all commercial grade.
The facility has a total of over six-hundred acres of pasture land. Horses are turned out at nine in the morning sharp. Each pasture contains automatic heated and cooled waterer, for those really cold days, a camera, which you can view through our website using a security code, a round bale of hay placed out there, in a sheltered from the rain and snow area. In some of the pastures there is an enclosure; it is fairly big but not as big as the pasture itself, in case a horse can not get along with other horses. We do not believe in total separation so we place the horse in the enclosure until he or she has learned how to behave.
We have many Wash stalls, with cross ties. They are at both ends of each isle in each barn. There are about four to five at each end. In each Wash stall there are two hoses, which have hot and cold water. There is some shampoo, medicated and none medicated, for you to use, or you could bring your own. Also there are random sponges and brushes that you can use for washing your horse as well as some Sweat scrapers. Please DO NOT take the items left there for you to use.
We have three training ovals for horses for two different types of races. Two are Race track training ovals and one is a Cross Country training oval. One of the Race Track training ovals is five furlongs and the other is a six furlong training oval. They are placed near, but not very close, to each other. The cross country Oval isn’t really an oval, but it does loop back to the starting line. It is about a total of four miles long and has many and varying obstacles. From fairly steeps hills to fallen over logs are in this obstacle course. Of course there are places where you can gallop flat out and there are places where that would be unwise.
We have three indoor riding rings. All are heated and cooled for those extremely hot and cold days. They are all very roomy and have equipment for most of the riding styles in the closet like area at the top end of the ring. There are lights and fans in each ring too so you can come as early or as late as you want to.
We have three different outdoor riding rings. One is a dressage ring. It is flat and has all the necessary equipment that a Dressage rider might need. Another is a jumping ring. It always has several jumps set up. The jumps rage from small two footers to 5’2’’ oxers. They also range from single poled to six poles on one jump. Also they can have a single jump on a line to four or five on a line. The third ring is a strict western riding ring. It has barrels and poles and many other things that you could use.
